About the project

A transformative collaboration: The Global Net Zero Resources Assessment, initiated by the Tiaki Institute, unites exceptional efforts from dedicated volunteers of the RMYMG under the UNECE, talented MPA students from UCL STEaPP, and innovative teams at Tiaki Institute and BeatCortex. This not-for-profit collaboration harnesses diverse expertise to advance sustainable solutions for a net-zero future. Together, we are embarking on the creation of a magic mirror for resources—a visionary tool to illuminate pathways toward global sustainability.

What is the Global Net Zero Resources Assessment? It is a group of volunteers, working together, to make a global assessment of: a. fossil energy resources driving climate change; b. the renewable energy resources needed to substitute for fossil energy and meet new energy demand; c. the minerals needed to produce renewable energy technologies and the technologies to use this energy; and, d. the carbon sequestration potentials available to remove excess greenhouse gases from the atmosphere because were are going to overshoot our global emissions budget. From this assessment, you will be able to see what resources your country has available to support our global transition to net zero emissions. Spoiler alert, it turns out we have much more to gain than we expected… watch this space.
